Birds > oneeyeblink  > Nature > Mostly Twigs
Welcome to Mostly Twigs!
Almost all of these pictures were taken in the wild or semi wild, parks and such. Birds that were going about their business and occasionally being curious about what the hell I was doing on their patch.
Because these shots are taken in the wild and my shooting style is one of hiking, stalking etc. it's sometimes difficult (but fun) to get set up for that perfect shot. Of course serendipity comes into play and is one of the big attractions of this kind of shooting.
I will sort things into sub galleries as soon as I figure out how to do that. In the mean time I will continue to add photos and text.
Enjoy.

Cheers
Bryan

oneeyeblink > Keeping an eye on that Coyote!
oneeyeblink > It looks like this guy is foraging but in fact he or she is bombing a Coyote that is about 10 or 15 feet beneath him/her. The Jay was making a huge racket which was what called my attention to the presence of the Coyote in the first place.

This particular Coyote lives in Queen Elizabeth park and is relatively tame around the tourists and visitors. Not a good thing I guess. No one has fed it as it never seems to hover around looking for handouts. When I encounter the Coyote on a quiet path it merely detours around me and calmly goes on its way. The detours are usually done with the least amount of inconvenience to it. I've probably been within 10 feet of the animal on numerous occasions.

I have a recent Black and white shot of the same animal in my North light gallery.

oneeyeblink > Saw-whet Owl at Q.Liz park being mobbed by a mixed flock of song birds. I jumped this photo to the head of the line on the upload queue. Too excited to wait for the ink to dry so to speak. Taken this morning Oct 27/08, not sure why the photo info. date says the 26th, it ain't true.
