This Towhee has a patch in a quiet part of Jericho park. On numerous occasions he has flown over in my direction and landed on a branch while calling out.
As I move off through his turf he follows very closely, sometimes 3 or 4 feet away,calling all the time. I eventually figured out that what he is doing was ground feeding where I walked. I guess I would stir up the leaf litter exposing bugs and seeds.
Probably more than half of all my shots of Towhees are of this friendly fella. I always enjoy going up to pay him a visit.
